The FieldSpec 4 Wide-Res field spectroradiometer can be used for many of the same applications as the Standard-Res model, although the characterization of material with sharper spectral characteristics is less accurate. FieldSpec 4 Wide-Res is not recommended for the analysis of materials and compounds with narrow or sharp geological spectral characteristics in the SWIR range, such as alteration mineralogy or atmospheric / gas studies.
Due to its wider optical slot, the FieldSpec Wide-Res field spectroradiometer provides the best signal yield of any FieldSpec spectroradiometer. High performance benefits measures taken in low light conditions.
In addition to being an economical field spectroradiometer, FieldSpec 4 Wide-Res also works well as a robust field spectrometer for accurate contact reflectance or non-solar energy measurements.
